This probably has been done but i know I’m not the only one who flys here, drives there, to experience new things. I’m on a walleye trip now. I go to the hunting expo every year and book trips. Tell us your guides, honest reviews, and give a price estimate.

I know we got some guides here so post up your stuff too! I’m always looking for new trips.

I’ll start with the place in at now.

Im in Lorain Ohio (6 hour drive from MoCo)

$700 for the 8 hour trip. You can put 6 guys on a boat. Air B&B is $135 a night (split 6 ways) in a nice little old house in a great neighborhood although Lorain not close to the water looks rough.

Today we snagged 13 but east winds. Lost 2 thanks to user error.

Yesterday we snagged 28 in the boat. Lost 2 and had 2 throw backs.

We had captan CJ and he was fantastic!

    Here’s another one.

Chris is the owner and that guy is amazing!!!!!

Chris works his butt off for you.

We usually do 2 fields and 8-9 guys. We set it up so it’s 10-11 birds a shooter. Chris handles everything!

Phesant, chukar, and quail. It’s all farm raised but they let you have fun. I think with tip your around $225 a person. It’s not “hunting” it’s a social event!

I went tuna finding out of Wanchese with Phideaux tuna charters. I think we had 6 guys and with tip it was $500 a person. No fish photos cuz all we caught was 3 of those false albacore bait fish tuna things.

I probably wouldn’t go again. The captain was apologetic and nice. The first mate was a great dude. As a fishermen i understand something they just aren’t there.

I understand the ocean is a desert and your search for animals in a desert but it wasn’t my style of fishing.

    Thanks
Forgot to add I’ve been on several guided hunts and have many hard to believe stories of bad guides. Some are now thankfully out of business.

This guy Johnny Wink has a top notch duck operation! I forget our guides name although i have his phone number but he’s from Arkansas and a great dude.

Jones Louisiana. It’s cheaper to fly into Jackson Mississippi and rent a car then drive 2 hours.

I think it was $250-$350 a day. That was per person with 6 guys. That included AWESOME lodging. You get a whole house and an out room bar game room.

Johnny is a wild dude and our guide was humble as shit but a wild dude. Food not included but just eat the ducks and geese you’ll shoot. Grab some snacks. He has a grill, black stone, and smoker for you to use.

Fishing guide Hill Norvel in Seward Alaska. He is rough around the edges but has a reputation of getting your limit on various species. We also stayed at his lodge. It was clean with home cooked food everyday.

We went several years ago with a small group and flew home with 424 pounds of fish fillets

We fished the Phideaux with Jamie and Jeff many times when they were out of Pirates Cove. Always had great results. We did head down the first year he was out of Wanchese and the wind was blowing hard out of the SE and he refunded our deposit and would not take us out. Good guys!

Yeah i hope i articulated I’m not giving them a bad review sometimes the fish just aren’t there. I generally find trolling boring.

The walleye trip i just got back from we wheeled in the fish but i wouldn’t do it again. Those fish have no fight and resign themselves to death immediately. Captain was great and put us on fish but the “fishing” was boring to me.

I do a self guided tour in maine after being given spots and that’s my favorite!!!

I’d be interested in a peacock bass guide if anyone’s got one? 2024 I’m going to Alaska so I’m thinking of peacock bass 2025.

Argentina dove hunt is on my list too

I want to try eating speckled geese too. Didn’t get to shoot any when on the New Orleans Arkansas border.

Not the same adventure, but there are lots of canals in Florida with Peacocks in them. I'm not sure how strong the S. American fishery is these days. You don't see much about it anymore. That tells me the bite is 'off'.

In Alaska I’ll be doing 3 days of Salmon fishing and 2 days of halibut fishing. There’s one day of choose your own adventure.

I love going to new places and seeing the way people do the same stuff i do but differently and meeting cool people that i already know have aligned interests.

I went landlocked salmon fishing with a guy name Donald Dudley in Maine. Easily the most interesting man I’ve ever met. 83 years old and I have no illusions i could beat him in a fight. The neighbors had to buy him a life alert GPS signal thing because at 81 his snowmobile fell through a pond and he had to save himself while beaver trapping.

He climbed a sheer cliff that was vertical for 200 feet with a fire extinguisher to put out a lightning strike fire.

Feral pigs hunting in South Western part of SC, near North Augusta. Guide's name is RIVER BOTTOM OUTFITTERS.
Reference to the web site is at https://www.riverbottomguides.com/ , also present on book of faces.

Highly technological and unortodox hunt with provided AR15/AR10 rifles equiped with thermal vision scopes. No lodging or meals provided, it is mostly for hunters oriented to get meat. Hunt is happening at night time, guide drives you on ATV buggie scanning the fields with thermal. Once pigs are located you drive to approach them from proper downwind side, walk closer to 75-90 yards, shoot from stick. Also guide has a lot of cameras which send images to the phone. A lot of deer triggering cameras.

Pretty active hunting process. There were two of us. First night we shot four pigs (one small, three decent size). Hunted from 8pm till 5am, then spend couple hours gutting and skinning the pigs, finished by sunrise. Second night was rainy but we were able to shot two more pigs (one boar and one saw), returned to motel closer to 1am. The guide is very dedicated and goes far beyond your hunting needs. We were extremely happy with both the process and the outcome.

The area has plenty of pigs, all our shots were on one of the fields, pigs continue to come to this field again and again despite the shots and our presense. We saw another sounder on a different field but they got our smell just seconds before we were ready.

We will definitely go there next year. Driving time is close to 9 hours.

The thermal scopes were from Pulsar, guide can make records to the phone. I have a short video of one of my shots, but I don't know how to attach it. Here is a snippet image.
