I have a nice supply of CRC brake clean that knocks them (and every other insect) right out. I love the trap video that E.Shell posted and I plan to build some. Carpenter bees return to the same spot to breed every year.
I usually use a badminton racquet....

I've never heard of something that could be put in the glass bottle of these traps to draw the bore bees curiosty. Anybody?

And
There are versions that have the entry holes under the edge of the block (vs on the vertical face), more where you usually see carpenter bee bores, and I think they'd be more effective, but what I've linked obviously works.
Wasp spray?? is your 20 mm busted? I'd be using that most definitively.
