Probably a dumb question, but I've only been at this for a little under a year.

Is a restringing something you should do (have done :)) regularly? Like every year? Every 2 years?

My Horton string has eight years on it and still going strong.

Regular waxing is what's called for.

    Especially on the serving.

I've got maybe 5 seasons on my Mathews and it looks almost new(winner's choice). I'll get one more year out of it.

I went 6 years on my Parker before I noticed some fraying. I got it restrung and wished that I had done it earlier, the bow shot a lot nicer and much more consistent.

Hunting bows, every couple of years.. competition bows, every year cos they get shot a LOT and I do take good care of my string and cables. String or cable failure is catastrophic and usually kills the bow... is it really worth the risk?
