How much would you pay for...

Dirty Harry's gun? Not literally HIS gun. But, a S&W 29 with a 6.5" barrel? Out of curiosity, I wanted to know what the market price for these is. I see that S&W has the Classic line which includes the 29, but it's got the wart hole at $1,129.00 retail.

I would pay no more than $1000, and that would be for a true Model 29-2 and not the new "Classic" series. I have seen them at local shows here in NC for as low as $750 and as high as $1100 depending on condition.

I have had my eye on a 4" model here in NC for a while. I wouldn't have to buy any new holsters. The downside? I don't have $995.

I payed $500 for my 29-2 a few months ago..

At the time I was looking for a 27-2 but found the 29-2 I could not let it pass for that price. Good luck on your search.

Saw a nice one up at Gun Bunker in Shrewsbury a couple of weeks ago for $750 - $800, IIRC. Ballpark around here for a good example. Ditto Model 27s.

I paid $630 for a 29-2, 8 3/8" barrel a few months ago. It is in superb condition.
