    All of it.

500 to 1,000 rounds PLUS a two year supply to cover your range visits, for every caliber you own. I'm not buying at these crazy inflated prices, so while I'm slowly drawing down my range ammo, I'm still putting aside ammo buying money. When prices normalize, I'll be able to afford to restock and my dollars will go a lot further.

I'm aggregating even more when I find it at normal prices..
Worried about new taxes, etc, I'd like to get a lifetime supply,
so I better double what I now have..
I disagree with the many caliber concept:
    .22, .223, .38, 9mm, 7.62x35, .45.
That's enough, plus .12ga shotgun and .50 blackpowder.

You need enough so that when the MSP VIPR team comes at 0230 and black bags you, they can then take your ammo and use it for their next raid...

I would say a minimum of 2000 rds of each caliber you need as a stock pile....Working amount of about 500....But like I tell the wife, you can never have enough.....If you know what I mean !

If you know how much ammo you have, you don't have enough.
    :)

    ain't that the truth
I don't have an ammo fort by any means, but I am comfortable with everything except 9mm and that's because it's a new to me caliber. I still haven't gotten the not-disapproved paper work back from 2/18 yet, but still have aquired 400 rounds so far.

I'm trying to get 1K for each caliber of gun I own...and even for the one that hasn't arrived yet.

While I've been waiting for the paperwork to clear I find that time isn't wasted as I upgrade magazines and restock ammo...

Got that, plus more easily for each caliber other than the 50 cal BP rifle.
maybe 300 bullets. powder and 209 primers easy...+
