What's the problem with owning a bunch of 22LR?

Ask the guy peering into the glass case at Wal Mart 3 days a week trying to get some for his kids to shoot.

I have plenty, issue is, like others, I all but refuse to shoot it because I don't want to go through the hassles of sourcing more. I know it has loosened up quite a bit, but, this past winter sucked....

Most of the sourcing is being done for you by this forum.

Well, that's too bad for him. If he doesn't have any because he's young and couldn't buy it before, then I feel for him, but if he's old enough to remember when it was less than 5 cents a round (or for me more like 1.5-2 cents a round and just didn't stock up when it was plentiful, then though crap. Like many other members, I have been buying it steadily for 20+ years. I haven't bought a single round of 22LR in three years - in fact to the contrary, I've sold more than 20K in the last two years and have given away a few K as well to those who NEED it, not to the ones who are reselling it or just plain can't plan ahead. I know someone that has 500K+ rounds of 22LR and all of it was purchased more than 5 years ago. You think the folks that saw this coming are the bad guys in all of this??

The key for some of us is to find the ammo that is currently undervalued in the market and buy a ton of it knowing that it will go up.

Probably the one good thing to come from all that Y2k crap.
I'm still working on $8.97 Walmart 500 round bulk packs.
I've even generated some smiles when I threw some bulk pack karma, unexpectedly on MDS trades.
It was at the height of the shortage, so it was nice to make some site members happy.
Though it's getting harder and harder to justify burning up the cheap stuff as prices STILL seem to be going up.
Cheaper nowadays to just shoot the Mosins.

I bought a brick when I first moved up to AK 8 years ago and still haven't shot that brick out yet. I've collected a few more over the years. I figure with the amount of 22 I shoot, I'm pretty much set for life....or until I have kids.

    8.97 Bulk Packs

I am in the 3K-5K range; I pick up as it makes sense, cost-wise.
