-I love a good rig and am always on the hunt for leather. The holiday season has been good to me as I've been able to scoop up some nice leather for recent pistol purchases.
-Old Barn Auction had a couple of lots in their latest sale that jumped out at me. The first lot had a rare Japanese issue holster for the FN 1910 that I picked up around the same time. I had found another of these a couple years ago but this one was in much better condition. Alongside it was a cgn 43 stamped German Hi Power holster, a Makarov holster and a couple of ammo pouches. Mananged to snag the lot for well under $200 delivered. Definitely a Mawkie Price ™.
-The other lot in the auction had a German Artillery Luger holster and shoulder stock. It was missing the harness and pull leather but had a genuine cleaning rod and take-down tool. That I got for around $600 OTD. Harnesses are impossible to find so I'll probably go repro route for now.
-The latest leather find was a German issue Steyr M1912 police holster. Not cheap or easy to find, I was watching this one up on Evil Pay where it started with a $800 BIN. I'm too cheap to pay that kinda money so I sat and watched it get relisted multiple times, each with a lower BIN price. Eventually I got a notification email from Evil Pay that it was on sale for for sub $300. Bingo, now we're talking! At that price I could justify hitting the BIN button. The perfect home for that German police issue M1912 I acquired last year.
-The last couple of items I scooped up on Evil Pay earlier in the fall. Both are Odin imported Luger Artillery and Navy stock reproductions, made in the early 80s for Mauser. Unlike the cheap Paki, Indian and Chinese copies they are quality German built and fit better than originals. Part of a limited production run, they came in the original boxes with certificates. Typically these sell in the $400-500 range today. Of course I didn't pay that, no surprise there, got 'em for around 50 cents on the dollar.
