Does anyone have any experience with a Hi-Point 9mm Carbine? I'm thinking about picking one up but haven't had the chance to handle the gun. At +/-$250 they seem to be an affordable plinker with a lifetime warranty. The Beretta CX4 and Kel-Tec Sub 2000 are other 9mm cabines on the market but cost a whole lot more and the Colt 9mm on the AR platform is out of the question. I'm assuming there may be a few available at the late July Dulles show.

They are rough, have snappy recoil, no reliable mags over 10 rds, but fairly accurate and reliable.

I would highly suggest the ATI stock, as the factory stock is incredibly flimsy.

Mine works great, I love it. The aftermarket ATI stock makes all the difference in the world though. Only downer is the ten round mag, but that's really not that big a deal.

I shot one that belonged to a friend, and decided that I need one. It's rough and utilitarian, but durable, very accurate and a lot of fun. I haven't picked one up yet, but it's on my list. Right next to the Ruger LCP. And the Mark III. And a .35 Rem Marlin. And......

I bought one a few years ago for 179.99 I forget where it came from
it was a pretty accurate gun the sights are ok mine didnt like reloaded ammo
a good little plinker or camp gun I dont think it was really heavy either
I bought it because it was cheap and a potent little rifle

I would say get the Keltec it is a little cheap plastic'ish" but the ability to use Glock mags in the right model is priceless.

How much do the Kel-Tecs and CX4's run? Also do they make the CX4 in .40?

You can pick up CX4's now for between $500 and $800, depends on caliber, new/used, and the accessories included. I have the 40 S&W converted to shoot PX4 mags instead of the 92 mags. I have both the carbine and pistol Storms and can't say enough about them. They do make the CX4 in 9mm, 40 S&W, and 45 Auto.
