And why is it a semi-auto revolver? 'cause of the kooky recoil stuff?

The Mateba is at least the third semi auto revolver in production in history (the first and second date back abut 100 years). The barrel and the cylinder on a slide and the recoil slides it back cycling the action and cocking the hammer which is I think anchored to the frame.
It is possible to bump fire the Mateba

Also, the mateba fires from the bottom cylinder, vs the top cylinder as with most revolvers. It was chambered in .357 magnum, .44 magnum, and .454 casull.
