So I've been looking at the HA AR-7 as a SHTF car/bug out gun. Seems completely suited to these roles due to the light weight and takedown feature. I love how easy it is to make it inconspicuous an that it is small-form and (reasonably) water-tight. Most people also say it's pretty accurate. Seems perfect. The one fly in the ointment is the claims that there are feeding issues. Some attribute them to mag issues, others to inherent design flaws. And it doesn't help that there have been multiple manufacturers over the years. So can the MDS brain trust set me straight? Is it worth my money? Is it dumb to depend on it in crunch time? Tell me if I'm being an idiot.
Bear in mind I realize that 22LR is not the ideal mankiller/large game round. I get that. But a good hyper velocity round (think CCI Stinger) seems like a perfect pairing that would make this a rather potent defense/last-ditch hunting platform. I mean, at the end of the day, any gun is better than no gun, right?
EDIT: I searched and saw a few relevant threads but given how much the QC seems to vary over time, I thought it might be better just ask the question fresh. Apologies if I was wrong in my thinking.
