Ok first and foremost thanks for any help with these questions.
I have agreed to help my Grandma clean up her pistol. Unfortunately she was relying on this for HD at her place in Va that she is hardly at. When I was there last week she showed it to me and I quickly confiscated for fear she might hurt herself.
It is a Dreyse 6.35 Pocket Pistol. The gun seems to function ok but is just extremely crudy and rusty in a couple of spots. After fighting with the interwebs my google fu finally showed me how to disassemble it.
Once inside I noticed that both the recoil spring and the fire pin spring are pretty bent up. I have not been able to find replacement springs anywhere.
One search did say that this gun was modeled after a Browning 1906.
Next gun is my buddies and he and I figured while I was messing with my Grandma's I mine as well help him.
It is a Beretta .25 auto 6.35 Pocket Pistol. I think it might be a Beretta 418.
On the left side of slide it says:
P. Beretta- Cal 6.35- Brevet.
Gardone V.T. (Italia)
Pretty much also in bad condition but seems to function. The recoil spring and firing pin spring also bent.
I also need to tap the barrel back into it grooves to reassemble the gun. I have tried cleaner(Hoppes Elite, it's all I have), and scrubbing but no luck.
So I guess my questions are:
Where do I get replacement parts?
How should I get rust and general crud off?
If I cannot find the new springs are these safe to fire?
