Hey, I don't know how many Zevon fans are on here but I am trying to find out what model Ruger this is.

Unless the plate is made by someone named Ruger I don't know what you're talking about.
    The revolver is a N frame Smith&Wesson.
An older one at that as the barrel is pinned.
The emblems in the grips should have been your first clue.
    That is a Smith &Wesson model 29-2 .44 magnum.

model 28 smith and wesson. i just got mine from my brother yesterday. as far as I can tell its a model 28, i need a better pic to see the bluing or lack of.

Not a 28, a 27 maybe. The 28 was the 27's poorer brother. The finish looks too nice for a 28 and I don't think the 28's came in that barrel length.

One of my favorite albums!!! (for you young 'uns, that's like a giant black CD but it's played by dragging a needle across it rather than a laser. Weird, right?)

    oh yeah, not a Ruger.
