Shit, be safe!
I thought you were going to the AGC on Saturday
What is the meaning of your avatar?
Personally, I will go to Freestate tens times, and MSAR 5 times, for every one time I go to On Target. I get to keep my brass at the first two, and they are not rude to me.
All this despite it being just 20 minutes to On Target, and 45 for the other two.

I am surprised to hear that. I keep my brass at On Target at and they are never rude to me. Sometimes the RSOs end up sweeping my brass and I then let them know that I reload and will pick it up. I also have no problem grabbing the brass rack and sweeping my brass that falls in front of the firing line back. When I grab the rack I also always sweep unwanted brass and my 22 out of the firing lane to clean my lane when I am done.
Might just be the guy I dealt with last time. I told him I keep my brass. He said okay, but swept it forward again anyway. The one older guy is fairly grumpy. Gave my son a hard time despite him being one of the most experienced shooters in our group of five. I needed to spend time with the women in our group that needed training, but couldn't because I was required to "supervise" my son. I wouldn't say all my experiences at On Target have been negative. I tried to order a rifle through them once. They couldn't be bothered. Freestate has just always been positive, and I can shoot my 5.56 there.
I've never been to OT on the weekend, but I've heard it's wise to get there early to avoid having to wait for a position.
Freestate is the best. I know the older guy you're talking about. The one I couldn't stand was the tall fat guy that looked like a woman. Total range nazi.
Since I am a member I just call on my way there and when I arrive I get the next available spot even if there are 30 people in front of me that are non members.
I am an RSO so I don't have a problem with tight safety.
A conversation, rather than talking down to me, would have gone over better. I could have explained my son's level of experience, and the fact that the ladies were only on their second range outing.
