Testing the waters again?
Prohibiting the sale, offer of sale, possession, use, attempt to use, or transfer of an imitation firearm; defining terms; establishing criminal penalties; establishing exceptions; authorizing the Attorney General to file a civil action to enjoin a violation of the Act; and authorizing a circuit court to enjoin a violation of the Act.
Does it actually define an imitation firearm? Heck a black gloved hand with an extended finger and thumb could look like a firearm in the right light.
They basically want to ban airsoft and paintball guns that look like real guns.
I've seen this used in more than one movie to hold up a bank, so it probably qualifies.
The bill text isn't available just yet, it seems.
I'd imagine this would apply to anything -- and I mean anything -- used to imitate a firearm. In the commission of an actual crime of violence, I could see it being used as an enhanced charge, but other than that, it's absurd on its face.
So for now.. It's an imagination on imitation bill?
