At my former job, near Hunt Valley, they went through the parking lot and took whatever CCs they could easily. Mine was ok but people driving trucks or SUVs were more at risk. I got an email saying that Baltimore County's finest were researching the incident.

A buddy of mine works in an industrial building somewhere near Camden Yards up on a higher floor(6 ht or 7th). The CC thieves hit their lot one day in the middle of the day. The worst part was he happened to look outside / down at his Toyota PU and saw guys crawling under vehicles, one of which was his. He dialed the cops and headed downstairs --- down all those stairs -- too late to do anything about it.....

I'm glad I work in a small industrial "neighborhood" sorta area - 20 years there and surprisingly little theft except for desperate tow truck guys siphoning off diesel from customers bigger work trucks or swiping and occasional mirror back when stuff got left out.

Years ago we had vandalism problems at a small seaplane base. We finally solved the problem by setting up fence chargers on each of the airplanes. Touch the airplane, get zapped! Don't know if that would work on a car or truck, but just the thought of the crook getting zapped makes me feel better.

There is clearly a theft ring operating. Two co-workers got hit, in Germantown. One was a Toyota SUV, not sure what the other one was. Broad daylight. And that was in 2010 so it seems to escalate.

Unfortunately it's an easy pay day crime that any idiot with a cordless sawzall can perpetrate in a matter of seconds. Especially on suvs and trucks with lots of ground clearance.

It's still pretty noisey. I wonder how many people witness it happening, or at least hear something strange, yet say or do nothing...
