Good if for a change a judge manages to not only read the law but also correctly apply it:

In a 54-page written ruling on the widely watched case, Judge Barbara Bellis agreed with attorneys for Remington Outdoor Co. that the lawsuit "falls squarely within the broad immunity" provided to gun manufacturers and dealers by federal law, specifically the Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act.

Dismissed. What the H... does this mean? :
While most legal experts considered a victory unlikely, many of the families were hoping that the case would proceed to the discovery phase and that documents could be revealed how the manufacturer markets the Bushmaster AR-15 rifle used in the slaying, in which 20 first graders and six adults were killed inside the Newtown school.

"Documents would reveal how the Bushmaster is marketed?" Is there advertising out there that says Hey if you want to commit a horrific crime this is the gun for you? Of course they're going to appeal.

And EXACTLY why the Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act was passed in 2005, The final bill passed only after adding an amendment that mandated safety locks on handguns, and after preventing the renewal of the assault weapons ban from being added.

After all, aren't ALL guns just tools of mass murder and even a picture of one in a Field and Stream Magazine ad is enough to send some lunatic off on a killing spree. :sarcasm:

They are looking for a smoking gun. They think that this is like Law and Order. In an episode of Law and Order, a gun is modified into a full auto and used to kill. Jack McCoy sues the gun maker and discovers the gun maker knew that the gun could be cheaply modified to be fully auto, but decided not to fix it because it was more profitable. They also discovered the company was intentionally marketing it in dangerous ways.

I've heard of the show but never watched it. That makes sense to me now. I guess the liberal mindset is I saw it done on TV so it must be that way in real life.

Will this open up all forms of product liability, particularly when the product is used for illegal purposes?

So with such a law, if you build out a lower, and create an AR that is later legally sold to another party who uses it in a crime, are you liable ... is the manufacturer of the lower reliable ... how about the company that sold you the barrel? Insanity.

I think they are hoping for a Runaway Jury result.

Or the fact that if HRC wins she is going after liability.
