GUN CONSIGNMENT?

hey guys,
i was cleaning up another pistol for a friend today and he mentioned he was expecting a little nose picker soon and wanted some cash and not a pistol. i know i cant post any classified here until i get 50 posts. so basically i asking if there is any shops around that do consignment and if they do what is the usual break down as far as % of sale. If it helps its a 1929 colt police positive .38 in .38 S&W with black rubber grips and nice blueing.
and I would be more than happy to "help" him with his dilemma my self but im low on cash

I know On Target does consignment but they take 20% of the selling price. They also charge to get your gun back if it doesn't sell.

Well, the description of the gun is almost enough to push it in the realm of "classifieds".

Other than that, scotts gunsmiting in Glen Burnie or The gun Shop in Essex should both do consignment and are industry partners here. Look up their phone numbers and call them.

I'm trying to avoid gunbroker or On target. Scotts is on my way i'll swing in and pick their brain. keep an eye out it might pop up on the classifieds shortly (after my 50th)

Maryland Small Arms Range does consignment. IIRC you pick the price you want and they display it for $40 per week. Obviously you want to pick a price that will sell in the first week.

I've seen consignment guns at Christian Soldier (many) & Just Guns in Parkville and Bart's & Arundel Pawn in the Glen Burnie area.

^This, if you do consignment. They get 20%. I just sold a pistol there on consignment. Sold in one week for way more than I would have gotten otherwise. I ended up ahead.

Christian Soldier 10% for consignment fee. I've had good luck there.

at the Gun shop in Essex we sell your gun on consignment and we do not charge you to do it. if you bring in a gun to sell and tell us you want 400 bucks we sell it, add a few bucks on the price and sell it for you we keep the mark up and you get all your money with no additional charges.

The Gun Shop is Essex is a good place for consignment. I am not sure if FreeState is doing consignments.
