Green Goo on Primer?

I know I'm new to the game, but I kinda freaked out when I saw green goo all over the primers.

Sent off an email to Freedom Munitions and its just a sealant...

And that's why I wanted to try some, so I can decide. To be honest, I'm not that impressed. So far I've been impressed with the Agulia 124gr RN FMJ. Stepped case though, and I'm not sure what that does for me if anything.

always good i wouldnt recommend freedom munitions ammo for precision shooting.

Yes, and with a coupon I found somewhere else and free shipping, the 124gr NATO only cost me $0.18. And I need to practice!!!

Nope, just a sealant that some manufacturers use. Helps keep moisture out and the primer in. It shouldn't be gooie though, it should be dry.

It helps with the ammo remaining usable after long term storage or exposure to bad conditions like being left underwater. Looks like they're using reject brass from Fiocchi (GFL) that had really inconsistent sealant. On mil-spec ammo, there's also sealant on the front end of the cartridge. It's usually either the same lacquer around the case mouth or tar inside of it.

No that's a sign of water resistance. might even see it on the bullet/case where they mate up.

If you ever see purple crap with what looks like sand particles around the primers, be very wary. It might be Egyptian surplus and it is corrosive...
