    Start a business that is.

    It doesn't have to be complex. You can do it as a sole proprietorship in your own name, so you don't even have to do the annual state compliance filings. Just make sure the income from the business shows up as such on your taxes, and that you keep receipts/deposit paperwork that shows the money trail. Doesn't have to be a lot of money, just has to be obviously related to that business activity.

    If I am a independent trucker on a 1099 could I start my own business? Should I go LLC or what?
