    WEAPONS VIOLATIONS GLEN BURNIE
On April 2, 2013, just after 12:00 p.m.., a 15-year-old, 10th grade male student at Glen Burnie High School located in the 7500 block of Baltimore Annapolis Boulevard in Glen Burnie was observed by a school employee returning to campus. The student was confronted and escorted to the office, where school officials questioned his reasons for leaving campus and then returning.

The student’s responses raised questions to school administrators. They then searched his book bag and found a loaded .22 caliber handgun containing seven rounds inside of the book bag. At that juncture, the School Resource Officer was immediately contacted and took possession of the gun and book bag. The student was taken into custody without incidentand transported to Northern District, where he was charged as a juvenile with weapons violations. The juvenile will be placed at the Cheltenham Youth Facility in Prince George’s County. The initial investigation indicates that no other student was involved and the student with the gun did not display the weapon or threaten anyone with the weapon. The student’s reasons for having the weapon and where he obtained that weapon are part of the active, ongoing investigation.

    handgun containing seven rounds
At least he was complying with New York law
    .

Threeband nailed it: Fewer than 10 or 20, so 'we're all safe now'.

When seconds count, school resource officers are only minutes away....

    get a clue, Annapolis.

Sad day for GBHS!! So much wrong here. I would say that its his parents fault, but honestly....its SO easy to get any type of firearms off the street for relatively cheap, and with the decline of this part of AAco over that past 10 years I am not surprised this happen. I have lived in Glen Burnie my entire life and am witnessing the decline of both zip codes ( 21060,21061) the
sheer amount of crime and drugs making its way from Baltimore is scary! We can only hope that this kid and whoever he got the handgun from are held accountable at a VERY high level!

i moved to the GB area back in '05. even then my wife would "move" out of our apt and in with her parents whle i was gone on business.

there was a small string of burglaries in my neighborhood that finally prompted me to get my first gun.

my brother in law would be attending GBHS if he weren't a part of a program that lets him attend elsewhere... more and more reasons i wish i could move back to va!

When I purchased my gun a few months back, my girlfriend questioned why I got it. I pulled out the news paper and showed her the crime section...with in a 5 day span there had been 10 break ins with in 5 miles of our house. She now makes sure I always have enough ammo!! Lol
