Everyone on MDS probably agrees this shouldn't be allowed. But we're not on the Rules Committee. Dem Leadership is.
Everything that they do is ultimately permitted by us the people.

Biden’s six executive actions include:
The Justice Department, within 30 days, will issue a proposed rule to help stop the proliferation of “ghost guns.”
The Justice Department, within 60 days, will issue a proposed rule to make clear when a device marketed as a stabilizing brace effectively turns a pistol into a short-barreled rifle subject to the requirements of the National Firearms Act.
The Justice Department, within 60 days, will publish model “red flag” legislation for states: Red flag laws allow family members or law enforcement to petition for a court order temporarily barring people in crisis from accessing firearms if they present a danger to themselves or others.
The Administration is investing in evidence-based community violence interventions.
The Justice Department will issue an annual report on firearms trafficking.
The President will nominate David Chipman to serve as Director of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms.
I gotta get out of Maryland before these people get any further along with their agenda, they just keep ramming the door until they get through.
Means the House won't vote on it until tomorrow. Does this mean there are talks going on behind the scenes?
Maybe there are issues on the Senate side. The Senate JPC Chair might not be too happy with the HJC for essentially bypassing his committee with the HJC's maneuver.
Remember a couple years ago when Atterbeary tried to direct the Senate JPC Chair to add all of her LGQL and other nasty stuff back into the Senate versions of the long gun bills? The Senate leadership basically told her "You do not tell the Senate what to do." and let her bill die on Sine Die with no Senate vote.
Maybe she"s being an arrogant ass again and annoying Senate leadership.
One can only hope. Obviously I'm against all of this crap that the MGA wants to pass but my bigger issue if that they are purposely ignoring the state constitution and breaking the rules to do so.

I called a bunch of Senators and Delegates today. W Smith's (the Senate JPC chair) assistant seemed to indicate he was not happy with the change.Maybe there are issues on the Senate side. That's good news. He's pretty well respected on the Senate side. It may never see a floor vote there in its House-revised form, then.
I like having adversaries like Atterbeary. It's easier to fight someone who is puts that much effort into being self-defeating. Just like Dumais bullied her way into irrelevance in the House.
Atterbeary seems to frequently step on her own d*ck
