    Well not really, you’ve still got the Feds to worry about but Maryland's highest court just held that Section 5-142 of the Public Safety Article which prohibits the obliteration, removal, change or alteration of the manufacturer’s identification mark or number on a firearm, has no related penalty provision, and is therefore not a crime.

    Before anyone actually does such a thing, it is still a federal crime under the NFA.
