The first 40+ years of my life were spent in Maryland. Up until I was 8 we lived in Carney. We then moved to Harford County (just north of Jarrettsville). After I got married I moved to Churchville. I spent 20 years there raising my children and being part of the community (my wife was a member of the volunteer fire company for many years). With all these deep connections it was hard but I could no longer stand by and watch the basic freedoms afforded us by our creator and the Constitution disappear. We purchased a home in York County last year and will never move back. After one short year I have gotten to the point where I hate the thought of having to drive back into Maryland (I work in Baltimore so I have to do it everyday). I carry every day when I am in my home state. It really stands out when I have to come into Maryland that the basic right to defend myself (and my family if they are with me) is non-existent once I cross that imaginary line on 83. Me, my tax dollars and the future contributions of my children will not be available to Maryland. It's a sad thing for a state that has the nerve to call itself "The Free State"
