Mark, owner of James River Armory, move his shop from MD to NC last Fall. JRA is a good place for that type work and for reparking a Carbine or a Garand.

JRA moved because they could no longer deal with the stupid restrictions imposed by Md SB 281...could not sell his ARs and M1As. Same reason that The Gun Rack and Constitutional Firearms closed in May/June 2014.

90 days is short for most gun smiths. Pick up the phone and call Shuffs he usually has a 30 day turn around time

Charlie would most likely do it while you wait or have it done in a couple of days, depending on exactly what needs to be done. He is semi retired so, he does not have a huge backlog. Plus he is local. His credentials are impeccable.

He will...he stated in his email that I can drop it off and pick it up the next day or the same day.

I also plan on getting this rifle bedded as soon as the extra funds come in and I would like it all to be done by the same person.

I have known Charlie since the 70's and have never been disappointed with his work, and I'm pretty picky.

Is Charlie Maloney still doing work on Garands? Last time I checked his site, it said he was retired.

Yes, Charlie is still working on them. He is just "semi-retired" so, he is not doing the volume he used to.
