  • My wife's best friend's husband was a Marine working deep inside Ft Meade. His USMC enlistment ended, and he continued as a civilian contractor. His employer just lost their contract and he will soon be an unemployed new father.
Is anyone looking for an employee with TS-SCI with a CI Polygraph? I don't know what that means, but I know he couldn't share 99.9% of his workday with his own wife.

TS-SCI W/CI poly means he's very employable. I can get him a fill in job as an Escort pretty much immediately. $15 hr with benefits. He can due better no doubt, but it'll keep him going until something better comes along.

But, the first rule of TS/SI contracting......find out who won the new contract!!! They will probably need cleared experienced people to fulfill their obligations. I know guys that have been cleared contractors in the same positions for the 33 years I've been there....they just changed employers every three to five years. Usually go out working for X on Friday, cone back working for Y on Monday.

Those TS-SCI with a CI Polygraph clearances are worth their weight in gold if he's in IT. Let me know if he's in the field and I'll see if I can point him in the right direction.

+1 on this. This is especially true today as clearance investigations are almost as far behind as OPM payments to retirees.:innocent0

Most contracted employees know who the other contractors are and just need to reach out. Booz Allen, DHD Inc., RJR Inc. are a few that come to mind from long ago when I had contractors working for me.

Have him check out the KEYW Corporation. Their web site will list openings, but he should try direct contact. Good company, great benefits. Headquarters are by Arundel Mills.

Question, as it seems as if you all are very knowledgeable in this area, why would a clearance crossover between agencies take several months? From the above named agency to another non-named, but one of similar scrutiny?

    Going to TS/SCI w/CI Poly to TS/SCI W/CI Poly

    I'm non-IT but an Engineer

What kind of work does he do?

I wish these were around the last time my contract ended. Unless he's a total vegetable he will be unemployed for several minutes... :D

If he's IT, my wife may be able to help.

Depends on the agency. Some will give you an interim and make you go through the entire process including the poly. Some will accept what you have and you just have the new company pick up your tickets. Again, it depends.

When he left the last job he was debriefed. If he gets another job within, I believe, six months, his clearance can be reactivated by the new employer with minimal paperwork and delay. Beyond that it gets more complicated and time consuming.

He should be good for two years. But as usual...it depends.

That's why you want to try to line something up before you're debriefed. A lot of the contractors I knew just rolled over. It was a common practice for the new contractor to pretty much roll everyone over. No delay for clearances, new contractor hits the ground running.

The clearance is granted by each individual Agency. Accepting other Agencies investigative materials varies widely. Mr. Snowdon and friends has greatly effected that recently.

WMAL has been advertising for GHA Engineering (?) who are in need of TS/SCI with a poly ... FREE medical and Dental for entire family and up to a $25K signing bonus.

I don't have any other details.

The clearance process is broken and has been for a long time. I would sat it started with the Carter administration if I had to pick a time period. Agencies need to be brought back into the fold as far as security clearances go. The cost of having each agency decide their security policy is costing the American people millions of dollars in wasted investigations and lost productivity. Maybe our President-elect might be able to rein them in.
