IMHO, you’ll do just as well by buying conventional supplies (rice, beans, pasta) as dry goods and storing them in containers that seal well.

Check periodically to ensure that vermin (bugs and rodents) don’t infiltrate, and they should be good for years.

Vacuum seal them in mylar bags, then in a bucket flushed with nitrogen or CO2.

My only advise is the check the calorie count on them, Ready wise has a habit of not supplying enough calories per serving, necessitating using more servings to get the necessary calories.
Most people don't realize how much space is required to store enough calories for a year.

    Math:

    1# rice~1# flour~1# corn meal~
    1# dehydrated potatoes~1 lb dry beans~1# dry pasta~1# sugar~1600 Calories

A 5 gal bucket holds about 30# of any of these (more like 25# of flour). So you need 15-16 buckets per person for a year's supply (2000 Calorie/day diet).

I have used Mountain house for camping, 2-3 day trips and i find them extremely salty. There are no more $25 MRE cases to be found anymore.....but if you can find them for a good price, i would go with that.

I just use Oxygen Absorber packets. End up with N2 and a partial vacuum.
How do you know you have put in enough to 1) Absorb all the oxygen in there and 2) To absorb any oxygen infiltration for the duration of storage?
