    Thought this might help... I know most of us might ask question which is which as SB281 check list on evil feature on Muzzle device...

    Pls. check manufacturers definition for best description on your muzzle device.

    Brakes / Compenstators:
    Bullet size inner cavity
    Bullet size opening
    Small ports / slots

    VS.

    Flash Suppressors:
    Large inner cavity
    Large ports / slot openings
    Open ended
    Tines / Prongs

    I disagree.

    Have you ever seen the old style muzzle brakes on Barrett rifles?

    They do not hold to your description

    also, a breaching cap has all the features you list as a Flash supressor, but it is not.

    Also, I think any discussion on this particular feature needs to be taken private or not even discussed on thi more easily accessed portions of the board.
