I am planning on doing a camping trip out to the Deep Creek Lake area. I'd like to be able to get in some range time at the nearby Savage River forest. Does anyone know if there is any issues with having a firearm at the camp grounds? I did notice there is a hunting area at Deep Creek Lake, but wasn't sure about non hunting uses.

You can check with DNR police to be sure ,but since its MD, all MD laws apply. Therefore no open carry and ccw by permit only.

Most MD Operated Campgrounds that I have visited PROHIBIT all firearms unless they are used for hunting. Cant say anything about Deep Creek Campground, I have not been there.
