I believe 100 percent with the reference/comparison to gas prices. I dont see ammo prices coming back down. Why would they? There was a huge run on guns over the past month. There are more shooters errrr folks with guns than ever before. Prices are where they are. If you find the ammo you want buy it. Dont believe that in 6 months the prices will magically drop....nothing ever does but the stock market and even that recovers to higher levels.

Get ammo while you can and with a little luck eventually there will just be more on the shelves just dont expect the prices to reset. (The dirty secret is that if you buy the ammo at the bigger chains the prices really have not changed drastically. It's the local friendly gun stores that have been gouging.) In Fallston there is a small family run gun store. I dont remember the name but it is near route 1 and 152. Their ammo prices are extremely high and they state, "Our supplier is charging us twice as much thus we have to raise it that much more on you guys. Its not what we want." That is crap.

Stick with the big chains and if you have an honest small gun shop they with them. Out the bad shops like the one in Fallston.

Ammo prices are what they are...enjoy the hunt!

This is how much you should have....An approximation of how many rounds of ammunition the DHS has now secured over the last 10 months stands at around 1.625 billion. In March 2012, ATK announced that they had agreed to provide the DHS with a maximum of 450 million bullets over four years, a story that prompted questions about why the feds were buying ammunition in such large quantities. In September last year, the federal agency purchased a further 200 million bullets.

    Then one should be fine...LOL
