Does anyone know if you can get a REM choke field barrel for a 870 special purpose magnum? Is there a difference in the reciever.

I have a Remington Express Deer Barrel, 12 Gauge, 20" Barrel, Improved Cylinder Choked, Rifle Sights, Matte Finish for sale $125. That has very few rounds downrange (old eyes & rifle sights are a bitch) for my 870 Special Purpose Magnum. The choke is fixed.

Note: to answer your question, Cabela's sells them with RemChokes. For deer hunting I like fixed chokes.

No difference in the receiver as far as a bbl fitting the gun.

I have the special purpose as well. My buddy has the 870 field grade model. My receiver is longer than his and built heavier. He has a 26" barrel i have the 20". My gun outweighs his. i am pretty sure there is a difference. The special purpose is a hair longer and built stronger!!

This guestion is on behalf of a family member. He has a s.p. slugger and wants to know if he can get a REM choked field barrel for it instead of buying a whole new firearm.

Check out the following link. For my 12ga S.P.M., I have the following barrels and they all work great:
1. 20" IC Express Model 24622
2. 28" RC VR SP Model 26225 with chokes for steel|trap|quail|rabbit
3. 21" VR RC Turkey Model 24615
4. 20" Express RSS fully rifled Model 24611
5. 20" fully rifled cantilever BBLl (don't have box, therefore don't know model #)

The model #'s specified in my previous post certainly function in S.P.M. without any issues.
