You can do FTF in Virginia. Not sure if you meant only FFL deals.

I think you can do that in a number of "Free" states, particularly out west. If the transfer is interstate it must go through an FFL.

You can get an idea about each states law at the NRA ILA Gun Laws database. Click on the view profile for any state you are interested in. Helpful to refute false claims when in debates with people who don't know their own states laws. Look at the purchase section under the Synopsis for details.

So you can do FTF handgun transfers in VA without going through NICS?

Again, I'm just trying to get my facts straight before blasting Twitter.

Yup. I know you didn't ask, but the recipient doesn't even need to be 21 for these FTF handgun transfers.

I miss VA....I hope to live in America again one day.

In most ( by raw number of States, not population) of America mentioning "regulated firearms" will get you a blank look. All non NFA modern firearms, are just firearms. In state private sales are just like any thing else. Federal law only regulates min for FFL transactions. States themselves can set minimum age for non-FFL transactions. Some states set 21 , some set 18.

That part I knew. I was just looking for the minimum federal requirements.

    Thanks.

WV is face to face anything not covered by the NFA.

I think the fed is only going to come into place for interstate sales and businesses with a 'federal' firearms license.
