Dear Senators,

PLEASE vote for HB 827, removing local gun laws.

Can you imagine if you had to drive across our Commonwealth with no stop signs, no traffic lights, no speed limit signs? You would have to do massive research, then remember and follow different laws at every intersection and every stretch of road. CRAZY.

Please don’t make the Commonwealth’s law-abiding citizens have to continue to navigate this maze. REMOVE local gun laws so that at least we only have to know and follow the laws of our Commonwealth, not different gun laws at each town, city, and county.

Thank you for your support. If you are not going to vote to remove local gun laws, I seriously would like to hear your rationale.

BREAKING: HB 827, Delegate Wilt’s bill, which repeals the authority for local gun-control ordinances, is NOT going to be heard today. So, if you were planning on attending the hearing this afternoon in the Senate Judiciary, you can cancel. We will advise when it comes up in front of the Judiciary again.

IMPORTANT: If you haven’t sent an email and/or called your Senator in support of HB 827, PLEASE DO SO! So far only 2,369 emails have been sent. We can do better!

Some have asked why the system is requiring a phone number. Your phone number is NOT being kept or used by VCDL. It is required in case you wish to call your Senator, as the computer dials your phone and the Senator’s phone and then connects the calls automatically. That’s all your phone number is used for.

If your Senator is Peterson, Morrissey, Deeds, or Edwards, it is particularly important that you contact them, including a phone call if possible!
