My Mother-in-law wants to purchase a handgun for home use. She is upper 70s and my Father-in-law left her a 6" barrel Taurus .357 revolver but she said its too heavy. She said she wants a .22 which would be lighter and easier to use. I am not a big fan of the .22 as a home defense round but anything is better than nothing. She lives all alone now and is old school so I have no doubt she will use it if she needs to. I pray she never needs to.
Please give me some ideas, what are good reliable small caliber pistols that can accept accessories like a laser/light combo?
I will be taking her to the range for complete safety/familiarization and plenty of shooting practice.
Thanks.
