Last Friday, my personal accountant (wife) informed me that I had enough disposable income to purchase the components for my 6.8 assembly. Yipeee!

Saturday morning I sat down at the computer and started ordering parts. It was a fast process as I had everything booked marked for months.

    * Fulton Armory side charger / stripped carrier: Check
    * ARP 18" 6.8X43; super bolt and carrier kit: Check
    * Gas tube & gas block: Check
    * Tact latch charging handle: Check
    * Complete butt stock kit: Check
    * Diamond head 13.5" rail: Check

Monday morning (Vets Day) I received the butt stock
Tuesday: Fulton Armory Upper, carrier and charging handle
Wednesday: everything, but the barrel is in the mail

Looking at the tracking numbers, everything will be at my door by tomorrow afternoon -- except the barrel, but I expected to wait for it.

Who would have thought a few months ago you could order parts from six different companies and get just about everything within four working days.

Now, if we could just get the 22LR flowing again.

Here's a mockup minus my feet

The same thing happened after the 2008 election, everything was tight for a while and then boom everything got cheap as vendors finally got their orders in and invoices started coming due.

I feel for the guys who bought anything but stripped lowers during the craze, but there was near zero risk that anything was going to be banned nationally.

I'm floored with the $600 and $700 (socom) Colt 6920 uppers.
