Not looking to start a "big fish" conversation but was wondering what some of your personal distance/accuracy bests have been either in field or range? What model were you shooting? What ammo? What glass did you use?

.5" group at 100 yards with M193 when my sights weren't zeroed. 3 shots fresh target. I had it hanging in my room for a while.

10 rounds grouping 7 inches on a 8 inch target at 600 yards. Factory 6.5x55mm on a sporter modified M96 prone on a bipod, no rear rest. Glass was basic target 1/8" 6-24x50mm mil-dot. Gun groups 1.5" at 200 yard zero. I was working on dialing it in past 300 yards (where I can shoot all day long and hit, fun to put newbies on that gun and let them hit a target 2-3 football fields away).

Not great shooting by accuracy standards but great shooting for me. 600 is at the limit of my elevation adjustment and my spotting scope.

Haven't shot much past 100 yards but I put 5 shots into a hole about the size or of a quarter with a 700pss 308 with american ballistics 175gr reloads.

It was accurate enough that with jus two tries I was able to shoot the tacks on my buddies target thus ticking him off as it fell to the floor. :)

    My absolute best?

Parris Island, 1987 late summer, high sun, no wind, clear sky
USMC KD course 500 yard full body silhouette
M-16A2 iron sights, standard ball ammunition
    10/10 rounds high center chest

Not sure of the group size in inches, but my target crew and the butts NCO were able to cover the whole 10 shot group with a Kevlar.

Amazing what a Drill Seargeant standing over you screaming and threatening to kill your entire family if you miss does for your focus and clarity.

I've made some awesome shots with an M60, but I really wouldn't count those, especially the ones using a tripod and T&E.

I have a Winchester Model 70 Lightweight in .243 that is ridiculously accurate for what it is. Shoots sub-4" goups at 500 yards with 95gr Sierra MatchKings with IMR 3031. It has a POS Tasco, but as long as I don't change the magnification, it's dead on. Whatever I zero it at, it has to say. Moving from 6x to 7x moves the POI several inches.

A new scope would be in order, but I really have no where to air it out and I haven't shot since I moved to the DC area 12 years ago. I do plan to take it to Myrtle Grove soon just to shoot it.

I don't know...reagardless its never good enough for me. If my .308 with factory ammo doesn't touch bullets at least at 100 yards or better with handloads I'm not happy.

Only shot past 100 yards a few times...but if I'm shooting MOA or less at 600 yards I'm happy. Best fclass score to date is 556 :( I know....not good at all, but hoping next year brings better scores.

8 shots 168gr Sierra Match King .308 (hand loaded by father-in-law... I'm fairly new to reloading), 200 yards at Marriottsville, 3/8", Savage 10FCP-K, Super Sniper 20X fixed. I have also been able to hit 10 out of 10 pool que chalks (approx. 1 inch square) on the 300 yard berm at DelMarVa.

I would like to take the Savage out farther to see what it's capable of but haven't had the time or "space" to do so.

I shot rifle expert on the USMC KD course 5 years in a row with an M16-A2 only dropping points in standing offhand and kneeling positions.

Last week of Sniper School. The 13" was an estimate by the pit crew. I never actually got to see the target. We were using "able" targets wrapped around a silhouette. I hit 4/5 in the black.

100 yards 3 shots that could be covered by a dime.
Sighting in my H-BAR with a new load.
A friend was spotting for me and told me to stop shooting, after the 3rd shot.
He said that he didn't want me screwing up a perfectly good group.
Sierra 69 gr BTHP Matchkings. H-335 powder. WW brass.
Colt R6601 HBAR. Open sights. St. Charles Sportsman's Club.

    About 5/16" center-to-center

This group was shot when I still had good eyesight.
Now, if a rifle doesn't have a scope on it, I'm lucky to see the front sight.

Savage standard 110 30-06, no accu trigger on a choate ultimate sniper stock and a 6-24 x 44 konus scope. Original barrel and Burris bipod. At 300 yards getting 5 out of 7 squirrels. Also using Wal-Mart Remington 150 grain ammo cheapest stuff I could find. By the way I do not recommend this scope lol. The only other upgrade was a trigger job bringing the pull to 1.5 lbs

we used my buddies dads range finder the second time we went back and ranged it at 294 yards. This time we brought my 22 mag with us. I could not get the scope on my 30-06 to shoot right again lol but my buddy this time got 4 out of 6 shoots with the bolt 22 mag still a good day for me scaring the squirrels I did get 3 though but after shooting like 50 times lol. CCI ammo was used in the 22 mag good stuff
