Even if you do everything right and you get a "permit" to exercise your first amendment right to peaceably assemble in Washington DC, the secret service can still shut you down. Hundreds of parents and their children were kicked out of Lafayette Park Saturday night by the secret service even though they had a permit to be there for childhood cancer awareness.
The Secret Service has since apologized but maybe it's a good time to rewrite that old and outdated Bill Of Rights to be closer to reality!
Amendment I
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble WITH A PERMIT, UNLESS THE SECRET SERVICE SAYS NO, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.
