Does anyone have any updated info on the DC carry concealed news? It just seemed to have died down at the beginning of the new year

They recently changed some of the rules to register your guns (no longer need to bring the guns in for examination) and removed the expiration dates on said expiration. But that applies to all gun owners in DC...

They are still slowly processing permits...

I don't know about that. When I moved mid March I had to bring them in.

The original in front of Judge Scullin was ruled invalid by the DC Court of Appeals and reassigned to a new judge, basically starting over. I think briefs are due and orals are in May IIRC.

I think Alan Gura (SAF) asked for a PI on the Appeals Court ruling but am not 100% sure about that.

what it is is a huge CF.

Thank you. All I heard was that the ruling was vacated

"RULING ON DC GUN LAWS -- Appeals court upholds Heller 2 ruling that certain parts of the registration requirement to own a gun for home defense are not allowed. These things have to stop: 1) Written test before owning 2) Limit one gun per month 3) Renew registration every three years 4) Bring gun to police department. "

DC Police will be releasing info shortly on these changes. Apparently DC decided not to appeal for En Banc or CERT petition to SCOTUS.

Calculated decision and for a change, a good one.

I thought they did appeal en banc and were denied? Did you hear that DC is now complying with the ruling?

Well MPDC4511 confirmed they rules are being changed to comport with the Appeals Court ruling. so either way, it seems DC has decided to abide by the Appeals court ruling.

I may have been mistaken about the en banc decision however.
