    All;

    From what I'm finding in a little reading, the CZ 452 barrels are not really meant to be changed. Can anyone confirm?

    I ask because I have a 452 UL, with that extra long, heavy barrel, which I'd really like to get rebarreled to make it shorter and lighter. I just don't shoot at distances that make sense for the big sucker. Beautiful gun, an absolute tack driver, smooth as silk, but I just don't need 200 yard capability in a .22 - I don't want to bubbafy it and have someone cut the barrel or anything, that would be sacriligeous, I'd rather swap the barrel but it doesn't seem like that's possile/practical.

    Ideas?

    Correct on the 452 barrels. The 455 and 457 barrels are designed to be interchangeable, but not so with the 452.

    I don't know this for sure, but I suspect that you MAY have a hard time finding a 452 replacement barrel. You may even have to have one made from a blank.

    By the time all is said and done, between hassle and expense, you may want to consider either keeping the 452 for yourself as is, or selling it and using the proceeds to buy a rifle configured more to your liking.

    Take it to a gunsmith and have them shorten and re-crown the barrel?
