I have an Armalite AR-10 "B series" w/20" barrel. About 3.5 inches from the crown it has a damaged section of the rifling that IDK but I suspect is most of the reason why accuracy with this particular rifle is so pathetically terrible and has been from day one. This is not the extra bling match grade SS barrel or any of that fluff. Regular steel barrel w/standard handguard.
Being the proprietary Armalite pattern and NOT the more industry standardized DPMS just buying another upper is not really possible and even before all the BS of the past year they were already discontinued/backordered forever anyways.
Not even sure if buying a barrel and swapping it would be practical as I believe there is something proprietary about the gas tube and barrel with respect to length and receiver interface. This would be the barrel I'd like use but it is discontinued/backordered as well. https://www.armalite.com/SACItem.as...Category=043384e5-970f-407f-b604-f6e324f0b737
I am not worried about originality or ruining something.
Same day service would be great. I dont mind driving 2-3 hours to someone who can evaluate this thing and give it a yes or no on cutting down and re threading the end and if necessary permanently installing a muzzle device to make it 16 inches long.
