It is not legally safe to carry in MoCo right now. That's the bottom line. If you're comfortable with "concealed means concealed", you can do what you want (and you always could, really!), but the second a cop pulls you over near a church or park for some nonsense and asks if you're strapped after running the license plate check on you, you are potentially in trouble. Betting on non-enforcement is playing with fire.
License plate check pulls up wears and carry permit?

Some say it doesn't, but 2 people I know with carry permits were asked by cops that had pulled them over about permits and if they were carrying, so...

It doesn’t, it has been asked and answered mu any times over here. Police can ask all they want, you are not obligated to answer.

The cops (allegedly) knew about the permits and asked if they were carrying.

    How weird county
Not by the licence plate directly. However if you are the registered owner... But many say no. So basically if you want to take your chances in moco then it's on you.

ABout 20 years ago, when I still owned a handful of MG’s, we called police to our home after my son was threatened by a kid in his 5th grade class who had a gun.

TWO police cruisers showed up. One out front, another about 50 yards away.

I greeted the one officer at the door, invited him in and, noticing the other car asked if this was normal to have two cars show up (in MoCo) for a domestic call.

The officer told me the fact I owned MG’s showed up on his laptop and, whenever that came up TWO cars were dispatched.

That would explain a similar occurrence the year prior for a false alarm call from ADT (motion detector) and a later event.

Years later, having sold all my MG’s, I stopped by MSP Jessup Barracks for fingerprints for a can, and asked to speak with someone about my MG registry, make sure it was taken out of the system. The officer I spoke to upstairs said yes, no MG’s were in the system however, he DID say there were 39 guns on the registry and began reading off a list of pistol purchases from the previous 7-10 years (not counting C&R). THAT wasn’t a surprise at all, of COURSE the MSP makes a record of all 77R forms processed.

So it wouldn’t surprise me if MSP and local police CAN access the 77R database remotely.

If democrats CAN violate our rights, they will, and do.

That’s MY story and I’m sticking with it.

in such a non gun friendly state I would be absolutely shocked if they don’t have access to that information. If there is no state law barring such a database table your best bet would be to assume the database table exist…

1st, a domestic always requires a minimum of 2 officers dispatched. Domestics and traffic stops are the leading causes of death or serious physical injury to cops.

2nd, I would put a little bit of money on the fact that someone informed the alarm company of the guns. It is not unusual at all for alarm companies to ask about pets and guns at houses, so that police can be notified so we don't release a K9 to search your house and so we know to specifically look for a gun safe in the event of an actual burglary.

nothing is going to happen lol

there are people with wear and carry permits who still carry that get pulled over every day. Nothing is happening. You get your ticket for whatever "violation" you made and go about your day.

I actually had a brainstorm vision of hundreds of legal C&W permit holders OC carrying at one time and at one place in MOCO to just put this out there publicly once and for all. I get it that it’s a lot of risk and self sacrifice but it would make MOCO act and demonstrate their true position for all to see especially the courts they are arguing their position in.

So if it is just the 77R database they look at, then they think you have your current inventory in ADDITION to any that you sold, traded off or is no longer registered to you.

Not illegal for cops to ask questions. I could ask you if you had coffee this morning on your way into work. You'll either answer yes or no. Ask a driver if they have a carry permit, the answer will be yes or no. No database needed.

Yep. The point was that the police made them aware that they knew about the permits and asked if they were carrying.
