Ill give it two more weeks for him to call Branch to find out whats up. After that all bets are off. He said he bundled all the Class 3 items and sent them together with one check and that since those have not come back with problems yet that I am crazy for trying to rush it. But that is total crap because Branch is processing paperwork submitted in early August.
(on a side note, admin guys is this a legitimate enough posting for you? Hopefully you dont dock me postings again even though I have been a member longer than most people) - as you can see I am venting.

Bad news today, after waiting patiently for six months I decided to call the NFA. Bam low and behold I had a problem with my application. First and foremost this problem was found back on 11/27/2012, and I am just finding about it today because I decided to call not because I received a call from my dealer. Now for the problem, my zip code does not match my city on zipcodes.com (that's what I was told by the NFA Examiner)? That is some bull@#$! I can't believe this holding me up for that, and then having the nerve to tell me that it happens all the time! First off my my city and my zip code is on my state issued Driver's License, and that is exactly what was put on my application. At this moment my dealer has not contacted me with this info or any. I am not happy to say the least and seems that December is out of the question. this is my face right now for real :mad54:

They can use zipcodes.com? Doesn't seem very official to me.

Checked on my Dealer/Dealer transfer. Been waiting about 9-10 weeks now. Found out on the 28th Dec that it went pending on the 14th. They must really be jammed up. Hopefully this gets approved and transferred soon.

Popped my cherry with this SBR. Many more NFA items to follow!

    Congrats!

And you're approval date is good news for me too. I have a suppressor that went pending 8/1. So by your timeline I've got about another 2 weeks till approval, fingers crossed.

Thanks. You may have less time than you think. I went into "problem status" on the 21st of Dec. I made some corrections and overnighted it back to BATF. Goddamn box 4a and 4h!!!

I told myself I wouldn't call to check on status. I'll wait another week or two and then maybe I'll call.

This is definitely the way to go, yeah. I sent in my initial forms in pairs, and it was just awesome (and expensive) getting back two at a time.

I have a form 4 (Galil SAR) and a form 1 (Uzi) still outstanding. Depending on what happens with MD and an AWB, I might go for another form 1 (AMD-65), but I'm finally coming to the end of my NFA gun buying/making spree, I think. After that, maybe a couple suppressors. :)

Maybe because ATF hasn't mailed them to him yet.

Last February an ATF IOI dropped by to do a compliance inspection. She had a list of every NFA toy that was supposed to be in our inventory. On that list was a transferrable MP40. We didn't have it, the F3 was approved back in November, 2011. Major pucker factor on our part.

We know the gun is coming through as a transfer, and we know who the buyer is. We call the buyer and get the selling dealer's contact info. Call him, he still has the gun, and he doesn't have the approved F3 in hand even though it had been approved three months ago.

IOI flips, calls NFA, NFA finds it and tells her it'll go out in the mail that day.

Then our IOI looks at us and says "Well I guess I can't write you up for that one".

BTW she was really just messing with us, she's actually a pretty nice lady.

Long story short, don't blame your dealer.

I thought the NFA branch had only 30 days to put these in the mail after approval. At least thats what the receptionist told me when I called.

Crazy story BTW. I'd be mad as hell.:mad54:
