To be fair nearly every city in Mexico and Guatemala are way more unsafe than DC. Both countries are retaliating because the the U.S State Department has warned U.S citizens of those countries high crime.

Correct, but it's about 2-3 blocks from DC. Not that Silver Spring is all that much more secure.

It’s been 5 years since I left. When I left, the worse neighborhoods in Europe were better than most lower to middle class neighborhoods in the US. That being said, Europe is a big continent and I’m sure I haven’t scratched the surface.
