    Hi Folks,

The first concept of this sight was posted on a few boards only. I wanted to see if the concept seemed sound to most folks and was therefore worth pursuing.

Moving on, this is Prototype II:

Very tough construction. It's just a little high and I'll fix that.

Some just want it mounted on the rear sight, no cantilever. I've got a couple ideas in mind for this, too. There won't be nearly as much hand-fitting, either.

Problem with one mounted directly to the rear sight, however, is simply that it defeats a lot of the rear peep sight concept. It will only make aiming easier than but not necessarily more precise than the original leaf rear.

The next iteration will likely have the rear peep lowered and it and the rear screw will change places.

    Thoughts?

    Thank you,

    Josh

I like it! As long as it's easy to install and doesn't wiggle I'd def get one for one of my Mosins. Did you make it out of a grease fitting?

Any chance you could make diopter sights for a Swiss K31? I'd love to have a set, but the high end swiss ones are >$300. That's WAY too much for me.

    Replaces rear sight?
Pull pin and replace rear sight I guess?
My concern would be it flopping up and down from recoil.
Having windage/elevation adjustment on a rear peap would really be a benifit.
Like the williams peep sight. If you could make an adaptor for that to work with the standard front sight of a mosin or even K31, that would be cool.

    Hello,

Yup, you're correct! Remove pin, put new sight in, replace pin.

Flopping up and down is prevented by the spring. There is rough adjustment for windage and fine adjustment for elevation.

The final product, if there is one, will have further refinements.

    Regards,

    Josh

hvymax, yes. I've not found anything that works better, and this keeps prices down, too!
