I'd planned this year to buy a .45 for my 45th birthday, but that purchase got delayed thanks to a deal I couldn't pass up on a Browning High Power. But I made up for it today.

Mark has once again twisted my arm by having the best price on what I want, all while being a genuinely nice guy. So now, I've got to wait until next week to pick up my new Colt Rail Gun.

I'll post pics once I've got it in my hands.

I think I was ordering my DD AR when you bought that. Beautiful looking pistol, made me almost second guess my AR purchase, lol.

    Pics & a Range Report

OK, I picked up the Rail Gun on Monday. After taking it home & cleaning it, I went to On Target with a buddy, and proceeded to put 200 rounds through it. It performed flawlessly.

It's built very well, with exceptionally tight tolerances. And racking the slide for the first time with a loaded magazine results in a sound that simply must be recorded for use on my iPhone. And as heavy as it is, it was not tiring at all to shoot it for such an extended session.

If I have one complaint, it's that the brushed stainless slide shows every bit of gunpowder that comes in contact with it. Unlike my many black weapons that look good regardless of how infrequently they are cleaned, this one will most likely end up a safe queen. But for the foreseeable future, I can predict this will go to the range to show off, if nothing else.

The target is from approximately 30' at On Target on Wednesday evening. Brandon & I had fun doing headshots.
