    You have to get the form notarized, usually you can do this at your bank. But you will have the notary watch you sign it and they will fill out the rest and put their seal on it. I just sent in my form 2 weeks ago

    So the application allows buyers to buy more than 1 gun within 30 day period, will it speed up the time that it usually takes to get the gun to your hand? Current wait time is about 5 weeks to from purchase to pick up.

    It allows you to bypass the one per 30 day restriction on regulated firearms. I think it also relaxes some restrictions on transporting part or all of your collection. But it does not do anything to speed up the processing of your background check when you go buy a new regulated firearm.

    You remove the 1 gun every 30 days restriction.

    I think everyone should do it. I'm sure someone in MOM's office keeps track of this and this will show him how many serious gun owners there are in Maryland.

    The Maryland Code, Sec. 4-203, provides "extra" transportation privileges for a bona fide collector:

    (5) the moving by a bona fide gun collector of part or all of the collector's gun collection from place to place for public or private exhibition if each handgun is unloaded and carried in an enclosed case or an enclosed holster;

    So you can legally trot your pistol over to your buddy's house just to show off (aka "a private exhibition.") Without the designated collectors status, you would need to schedule an informal target shoot lest you run afoul of the law.

    My collector's cert is in-process. I look forward to engaging in private exhibitionism.

    Technically you don't need to be "designated" to be a bona fide collector. But I agree with you, it takes the discussion and uncertainty out of it! :thumbsup:

    for me, the transport issues were the main reason for getting it. I really don't buy more than one handgun in 30 days, at least haven't so far

    but stopping for lunch on the way to the range, and showing my collection to my buddies, makes it worth having
