Cold Steel Cane Sword!?

Almost exactly four years ago I had a complete knee replacement and started looking for some sort of cane to both act as a deterrent and a walking aid.

After getting two or three "sword canes" which were little more than letter openers I got this exact one. Legal or Illegal wasn't the primary question but quality and usefulness were.

I can vouch for the sturdiness of this sword-cane. It is a heavy, sharp and quality piece of work for the money. The other canes had a screw type scabbard which would take time to release the blade, this one is secured by rubber washers.

If accosted by some evil entity with mal intent toward you just point the cane in his direction and when he grabs it the sword part will be unleashed. Or just beat him with both parts.

I am thoroughly impressed.

Watertight tube, tube appears to be trimmable for height, and the blade is already sharpened.
