I hear mixed reports about the cobra p380, I was wondering if you guys know anything about them? I may be moving to WV sometime in the moderately near future and the Cobra p380 looks to me to be a decent plinker, but is it dependable enough to be a ccw?

If you mean the pistol pictured in the first post , the pot metal SA striker fired one ?
As mentioned it is a moderatly improved Davis, which in turn is a moderatly improved Jennings, which in turn is a moderatly improved Raven. Which boils down to a moderatly improved fish weight.

However Cobra's polymer framed DAO Patriot series pistols are a fish of a somewhat different color. Most reviews have found them to be reliable , durable , and about as accurate as typically expected for inexpensive pocket pistols. Not warrentied for +P or JHPs , offered in .380, 9mm , and .45acp . The .380 and 9mm are the same physical size , .45 slightly larger. Reviews report sometimes feeding jhps from certain positions in the magazine , and 100% w/ fmj .I would try Powerball and EFMJ for function. Likewise .45acp would be first choice.

Save more for a better gun would still be first choice. But if you had your heart set on the cheapest large cal semi that would be likely to go bang everytime , then the Patriot would be worth a look.
