CLEO - PG county

So I received my paperwork for my C&R the other day and I've been reading up on everything. The time has come to find out who my CLEO is. I am in College Park. The C&R FAQ says to call the local non emergency line and get the name and address from them. But I've found a post on here (granted its a few years old) that suggests using the State Police. So I'm a little confused.

Who is the proper person to receive my CLEO paperwork? The closest police department to me is the MDSP on Rhode island Ave, but technically isn't PG county the local police department?

I'd rather not give the county as much as possible, but if I have to I'll do whatever I've got to do.

Any help is much appreciated.

The sheriff is not the CLEO. The county police chief is as the county police are the primary law enforcement agency...since he lives in CP. If he lived in a municipality that could be argued about a municipal agency.

I am guessing here but I think they just want the applicant, applicant's address, etc. run in CAD to make sure of no issues.

When I filled out mine I sent it to the Superintendent of the State Police.

In PG County, I would say that the Chief of the PG County Police would be the CLEO.
Normally, the County Sheriff would be the highest ranking LEO. However, PG county is unusual in that the Sheriff's department mainly handles security at the county courts and the transport of prisoners between court and jail. They leave the policing of the "streets" to the county police department.

Ok so it looks like the general consensus is Chief Magaw. I'll call the non-emergency line to verify this then send everything on its way.
