This is the wayI like wipe out or bore tech products
G96 is Scott (of Scott's Gunsmithing) prefers. He does most often uses Hoppes for bores or sometimes Wipe Out or other cleaners for severely fouled bored.
I use the G96 Gun Oil (not the synthetic) which not only works great (better than Breakfree IMHO) but smells wonderful.
Ye Olde Hoppes #9 for stubborn cleaning & bore snakes when needed.Gun Oil – G96 Products Inc.
