Classified issues: I miss "Commit to Buy"

Had a few issues recently with the classified ad process.

It would really be useful if we could return to ther old "Commit to buy" system, wherein a seller would post an object and a price, the buyer would commit to purchase, and the deal would be locked in and the ad delisted at that time.

I've committed to purchase a couple of items, and had one add items to the original ad and up the price, and a second decided to sell to someone else because I didn't reply to his PM immediately, even after my commitment.

I will say that most of the deals I've made here were more than satisfactory; it's the outliers that are problematic.

It's a bit frustrating, just the same.

I agree. The Commit to Buy button locked a person in, and shut down, or paused the ad. The Buy it for $xxx just sends a message, which can be very confusing if you are having conversations with 3-4 other people about who wants it first, but you haven't been able to pause or close your ad yet. Then one person gets upset because they hit the Buy it now button while you were conversing with another person you were making plans to sell something to.

PLEASE BRING BACK THE COMMIT TO BUY BUTTON.

Commit to buy should trump all conversations.
